The Brief

Papa J’s have two restaurants in Luton and Milton Keynes. Although the restaurants are very established (the first opened 12 years ago) the traffic they were getting from Google was poor. In recent years, a lot more restaurants have opened and with increasing costs Papa J’s needed to attract more customers to remain profitable.

We implemented a range of Local SEO strategies to target local searches as well as a number of campaigns with Google’s Search & Display.

Results

Within one month our Local SEO work yield fantastic results. They were ranked 13th for Indian Restaurants Luton (a keyword that gets 1,000 searches a month according to the Google Keyword Planner) and we got them to number 1! For “Restaurants Luton” (which gets 4,500 searches a month) they were in position 89 and at the time of writing, we have got them to position 9 (there’s more to be done to get them in the top 3).

The results for our work on the Search & Display Networks has also been fantastic – in December they got 1,263 click-throughs at an average cost of 32p per click on the Search Campaign but Display campaign has exceeded all expectations. We targeted local people by giving Google a list of websites their clientele would have visited – for example local gyms, cinemas as well as local competitors. During the month there were 3,025 click-throughs and the ads were shown on 246,681 occasions – with an average cost per click of 4p

These campaigns have given their bookings a massive boost.
